Student Job as PDEng Trainee in BioProduct Design

As a PDEng-trainee in BioProduct Design, you develop yourself into a visionary team-player with a state-of-the-art background in biosciences, prepared for innovative bioproduct design. You are trained to develop and apply an independent attitude, a critical approach, creativity, and a focus on innovative applications in the interdisciplinary Life Sciences field.
The first year consists of a tailor-made programme of advanced coursework in the Life Sciences, project management, intellectual property and economics. You gain experience in teamwork, multidisciplinary problem-solving and conceptual design. You learn to apply a systematic, quantitative design methodology in a variety of Life Sciences disciplines. You implement your knowledge in the Group Design Project at the end of the first year.
In the second year you apply your skills in the Industrial Design Project, developing creative solutions for real-life problems, based on the latest developments in the Life Sciences.
After successful completion of your training, you receive the ‘Professional Doctorate in Engineering’ degree, or PDEng. The expertise gained in this programme is in great demand and leads to excellent prospects for a professional career in the Dutch and international Life Science industry. University Graduate Requirements
You hold a Master degree with excellent results (top 10%) in Life Science & Technology, (Bio) Chemical Engineering, Biopharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology or a related discipline. You have an open, creative mind and a critical attitude. You enjoy working and studying in an international team. Your ambition is to solve innovative design problems, and your goal is a career in industry.
Delft University of Technology is a bilingual organization; a good command of English (written and spoken) is essential.

Conditions of employment
Estimated maximum salary per month: eur 1500 – 2000

Maximum salary amount in Euro’s a month 1661
Employment basis: Temporary for specified period
Duration of the contract: Two years
Maximum hours per week: 38

Additional conditions of employment:
You will be employed by the Delft University of Technology (‘earning while learning’). PDEng positions start in February and September and have an employment basis of 2 years (1 year with an extension of 1 year).
The Delft University of Technology offers an attractive benefits package, including a flexible work week, a free ADSL connection at home, and the opportunity to assemble a customized compensation and benefits package. Salary and other employments benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.
