Cartwright Scholarship Program
In 2004, Dorwin “Doc” and Barbara Cartwright’s passion for education compelled them to establish an endowment through American Indian College Fund. The Cartwright Scholarship Program is open specifically to American Indian men with the hope of increasing the number of male students graduating from tribal colleges. Scholarship recipients are required to continue the Cartwrights’ vision by mentoring other male students in their community encouraging them to attend college. This year, we will award need-based scholarships of $2,000. To be eligible for the Cartwright scholarship you must:
- Be male;
- Have at least a 3.0 grade point average;
- Commit to mentoring other male students locally, encouraging them to attend college;
- Be American Indian or Alaskan Native with proof of enrollment or descendancy;
- Enroll full-time at an eligible tribal college for the 08-09 academic year;
- Have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and financial need. Continue Reading »
